Tips To Boost Your Child’s Confidence

W Whenever we work with the adults in a room and ask them what’s the 1 thing that you need for success. You know what’s the one thing that comes up every time. People say confidence.

What is this confidence, and where does it come from?

It comes from our childhood, so when we as adults need the confidence to succeed, then children need it much more. They need it because they’re dealing with many more challenges. We are dealing with our environments, but they are dealing with their own physiology— kids development with so much curriculum & distraction.

Many things, so a child’s confidence is the foundation for their life and the way they’re going to grow. In fact, how a child’s confidence is built in his early childhood is the reason. Why he would succeed and how he would manage, so let’s go a little bit more into it.

My request is don't stop at telling them what they can't and what they shouldn't go forward and tell them how they can. How they would be able to make a move happen

What is confidence and how to empower your child?

  • There is a lot of myth around it a lot of people will come to us and say he doesn’t speak to you know when a lot of guests arriving at home. He doesn’t talk to them that’s got nothing to do with confidence alone. It could be the child’s personality.
  • We think when a child doesn’t go up on stage and speak. It’s about confidence; there are different kinds of nature. There are different inclinations that children have not gone up today on stage may not be you know the same scenario tomorrow.
It is just different phases. Hence, as parents, it’s not for us to link confidence in seeing what everybody else is doing because your child can’t do that is not about confidence. Exactly confidence can be confident is directly building self esteem of a child or the self-image of a child. When the child looks at the mirror. Say this is me does he love himself does he like himself if he wants to work with himself that decides confidence. It is true for us all, so we look into the mirror and see yourself saying. I can’t do this I’m like this I can’t be this way, and that’s closely linked to your confidence, so when we understand this instead of going into any complicated theories around confidence.  I would like to make it very simple for you as a parent whenever a child is dealing with situations you know as growing up and going into real life and dealing with his environment situations if he can hear himself say to himself. I can versus I can’t. That is confidence.  It’s the number of I cant more or is the number of I can’t more that decides his success, and that determines the level of confidence he has so for us is a parent it becomes very simple if we know it is just you know the direction is he going towards. I can or is it going towards I can’t that’s all we need to workaround.
According to us, confidence will become really simplified when we focus on this one thing about making them more able, making them more confident, making them more. I know out into the world to be able to really take it in, and you know work with the challenges around. That is going to really boost their confidence.

How confidence is shaped?

Confidence is not like a pill that we can give to the child, and it will get embedded. It actually comes from what is happening in the environment so research proves one of the most fundamental foundations of a child’s confidence is the parents. Yes the parents because it says that you know what you speak and how you speak becomes their voice as they grow up.  Their inner voice it becomes you know their driving factor so if you used to say you know they don’t do that don’t do it this way and maybe if they make a mistake you know pounce on them or there’s a you know. You shout or you’re always saying you know I can’t or even if you’re saying it to yourself. They have heard more of that. The tone in which you say you do if you’re reprimanding them and the tone is really really hard okay then anytime they hear the sound anywhere else also it triggers them.

Hence, what you speak and how you speak as parents is going to become their inner voice as they grow up.

Very important thing to look for is what are we speaking as I said before, necessarily it is not about talking to them; it is also about what you speak amidst you want. I mean, it could be the two parents. Talking to each other, it could be you talking to you know grandparents or other relatives or neighbors. Whatever you are you know speaking is what the child is processing, so it is very important to actually self you know reflect and look at saying what environment we are creating for children is it an environment of confidence. For example if somebody comes home and says okay let’s go for a walk and if you are going to respond and saying I don’t think I can go for a walk I am not able to walk, You are just replying but the child is picking up that you know whenever he has to walk he has to think about whether he can walk or not. It is very subtly getting ingrained in the child it could be again as simple as you know if somebody is calling you and you’re you know giving reasons on and on about your health you would see the child also getting up in the morning and giving you reasons on and on so all of this is very very interlinked.

  • What environment are we creating?
  • What are we saying to each other?
  • What are we saying to the child?

Every time that you have a conversation with children are you leaving them empowered yes they may not be able to do it so a lot of parents will come and say that, yeah I mean I can’t know you know I can’t encourage a child when he can’t do something very true when the child can’t do something it is to address what he can do and also guide them or suggest them on how he can do don’t leave it, and I can’t do face you know to add it up with saying how he can do  for example for you take you know four-year-old into the playground and he can’t play with the elder boys so he would come back and say

I can’t and all you need to say is you may be able to if you learn how to play even if you spend every day a half an hour and learn on how to kick on how to you know move the ball. You would be able to so you would see the child actually trying to play with the ball and try to learn the skill.

Children begin by loving their parents, as they grow older, sometimes they forgive them

– Paul Tournier

My request is don’t stop at telling them what they can’t and what they shouldn’t go forward and tell them how they can. How they would be able to make a move happen.

Kids Party Planing

We offer this complete kids first birthday or kids party planing checklist for those of you who want to organize every aspect of your child’s baby boy or girl first birthday party. At various points, we assume things and do not mention them, but on the whole what follows is a comprehensive checklist for planning. You can use it with the confidence that your party will achieve its purpos.
As we have already mentioned, when it comes to parties, party decorations, certain expenses are unavoidable.

Birthday Kid Party Planing

We begin with a brief list of information that you will need to consider. This is the general outline we will use to create our party planning checklist. Sometime during the period leading up to the party, you will need the answers to these questions. So, the sooner you can answer them the better.

1. What type of party is your child having?

Birthday parties are the most common, but we have had parties for other occasions. It will affect your kid party planning with respect to games and activities, and also the food you will serve.

2. What are the ages of the guests?

Often, the children tend to be of the same age. But this is not always the case. You may have to take into consideration those who are significantly younger or older.

3. What location are you going to use?

We always prefered our home, but large groups can only be accomodated elsewhere. Community Centers and school gyms are more economical than commercial places.

4. What day and what time of day?

You have the choice of morning, afternoon or evening. The party should last from 1.5 to 2 hours. Your decision will depend on the age of the children and their availability.

5. How many guests are you inviting?

Again, this has to be decided early in your kid party planning because other factors, like location and food, will be affected by it.

6. What kind of party food and refreshments are you going to provide.

There are the usual no-brainers like hot-dogs, hamburgers and soft-drinks. They are also economical. But you may want to serve something slightly different. It will depend on the kind of party, whether formal or casual.

Step-By-Step First Birthday Party-Checklist

Now, let’s go through the entire process of our kid party planning. Your child should be part and parcel of every decision made. Give her a sense of ownership.

Start a month to go.

(a) Decide on the theme of the party. This will focus your energies and make the party-planning a lot easier. It will affect the games and activities you plan. It may even affect the food and costumes. Make sure your child has a clear theme for the party.

(b) Make a tentative guest list. Not everyone will be able to come, and there may be last minute additions. You should decide how large the party is going to be, and make your list accordingly.

(c) Decide upon the exact date of the party and the time of day .

(d) Consult the party-planning checklist. Remember to do this frequently. It’s important to be thorough and on schedule. Also, you may want to add or alter some of the planning.

(e) Make a list of all the party supplies that you are going to need. Try to be complete. This list should include not only the larger, obvious things, but also the smaller things.

Two Weeks to go kid party planing.

(e) Send out the invitations based on the list you compiled. Make sure that you clearly indicate “RSVP”. You need to know as soon as possible, as accurately as possible, the number of children who are coming.

(f) With your child, plan the games and activities. We have recommended some wonderful places to go for this on the previous page. Most important thing at a kids’ party is to keep them active. They will not be able to stay at a single game for very long. Keep them moving from game to game, from activity to activity. That’s why party-planning is so important. Plan your party accordingly.

(g) Decide on the food and refreshments. Also, when these will be served. We recommend that food and drinks be brought out at the end of the party, just before they go home. Children of all ages have enough energy without being further energized by food and drinks.

(h) If you are buying the cake, verify that the cake is going to be ready on the appointed day. Any food that can be frozen should be bought and stored.

(i) Set up the final timeline for the day. Know exactly how the party is going to begin, what activities the children will participate in, how long they will last, when the food will be served, and how the party will end. Make the party-planning checklist to be consulted on the last day.

Two days to go kid party planing.

(j) Determine the exact number of children who will attend. Our experience has been that there are always two or three who arrive at the last minute.

(k) Based on the numbers, buy all the food that you will need for the party. Remember that you have some frozen food that you already have in storage.

(l) Get your cameras and video-cams ready. They should be in good working order. Consult the kid party planning checklist.

(m) Decorate the cake, if you are making your own.

(n) Child-proof the location, whether it be your home or a rented hall. Safety is most important. Now, decorate the location, appropriate for the type of party.

(o) Prepare the food and refreshment.

(p) Consult the party-planning checklist.

The big day!

If everything was done according to the party-planning checklist, there should be nothing to do on the big day itself, except to transfer all the needed material. Remember to keep them busy. Enjoy it and take lots of pictures.

Child-games Ideas for Effective Child Growth

On this page, you will find ideas for child-games that we have tried and found successful as we raised our three children.

Although, like all parents, we have bought games and toys for our children, the most memorable and joyful time was when we made our own child-games and toys with them.

Children don’t really care what games and toys look like, but they do want them to stir their imagination, creativity and passion.

Children don’t really care what games and toys look like, but they do want them to stir their imagination, creativity and passion.

Here, therefore, we have some carefully selected ideas for you to try.

If you can find your child’s passion at any one time, getting him/her to play and learn is a piece of cake.

Your child cares about doing things with you. Make sure she is involved in every step of planning, making and enjoying the child-games and toys.

The ideas we have compiled for you here are simple to make and fun to execute. I sincerely hope you will find them interesting and useful.

OK, so are you ready for our first child-games idea?

Good. Let’s go!

Travel World History

We found that this child-games idea we made up was perfect for a winter afternoon or evening when one of our children invited a handful of friends over.

We found that this child-games idea we made up was perfect for a winter afternoon or evening when one of our children invited a handful of friends over.

Materials needed: poster, cut-out pictures, glue, dice, encyclopaedia.

Get a poster the size of a board-game. It should be an attractive picture of a landscape or a country.

Cut out pictures that have to do with different countries of the world. For example, Statue of Liberty for the United States, Eiffel Tower for France, Kyoto Temple for Japan, India gate of India etc..

Don’t be shy to represent some less well-known countries. It’ll be more fun.

Paste all these cut-outs onto different areas of the poster. Draw or paste a segmented roadway(walkway, ladders, etc.) from one picture to the other. Start at one corner (Start); this could be your country. Decide upon a destination (Finish). Place it at the opposite corner.

There should be an encyclopaedia of geography or history nearby for reference as the children play.

This game is meant for up to four players.

Everyone begins at “Start”. Using the dice, each player tries to progress along the road to the “End”. In order to successfully land or stay on a picture, the player must annouce one important fact or information about that country. If she/he cannot, and another player can, she must return to “Start”.

Whoever gets to “End” first, wins. That’s it: child-game-idea #1!

This child-game is appropriate for children from age 6 to 12.

For this game, the poster is the most important item. Selecting the right poster will set the right mood for the entire journey.

We always gave our children full access to household materials that were not in use. This child-games idea was initiated to encourage imaginative and creative play.

Materials needed: large table, cushions, old blankets of different colors (greens and blues are best), toys of related theme.

This games-idea started as we suggested to the children that they make a landscape. We didn’t use the word “landscape”. I think I said, “country scene”.

That was it. That was the only challenge. They had to make something.

Well, they embraced the idea immediately. Children love to construct a miniature scene that depicts something they have a passion for.

They eagerly rummaged through the closets and the basement and pulled out old blankets and cushions.

Fortunately, we also had a ping-pong table that we hardly used. They made the landscape on that. (If you don’t have a large table, no problem. It can be done on the floor. Just as good.)

By putting cushions under the blankets (greens and blues), they made a scene that consisted of hills, valleys and rivers. With cardboard pieces, they added mountains to the scenery.

Most of the thinking and all of the execution for this child-games idea came from the children. We were simply there to give advice when asked.

More importantly, it was what they did with this creation that was noteworthy.

You can imagine what the landscape became under his creative imagination. A battle-field where two opposing forces manoeuvred for strategic advantage.

Experiences like this taught us quickly that the best child-games activities are simple and easy to make. It’s true that children love store-bought gifts, but almost always they are satisfied with simple things.

It’s not the sophistication they look for in their games; rather, they embrace anything that triggers their imagination and passion.

Reading with Children making the most out of bedtime stories

Teaching a child to read is a great thrill. We all love the looks on their faces when they sound out a few letters for the first time and say the word, mama. This is not a moment we would want to save for a teacher; this is my special moment.
